Food lovers are in for a treat during the August Bank Holiday weekend
Market Place, the UK’s leading operator of continental and special event markets which runs Harborough Market on Northampton Road, has announced plans for the town’s first food and drink festival on Sunday and Monday, August 30-31. The festival will be open from 11am to 7pm.
The free festival, which will be held in Welland Park, aims to showcase the best of the region’s producers.
There will be local, regional, national and international cuisine on offer, including artisan breads and cakes, cider and beer, meat, pies, chutney and cheese.
Street food traders will offer an array of European, Asian, Indian, African and Caribbean foods, and for the sweet-toothed there will be a range of sweet treats from chocolate to pancakes, waffles and handmade fudge.
With more than 100 stalls, there will be something for all taste buds and all pockets.
Sairah Butt, Harborough Market manager, said: “We want to celebrate the quality and diversity of the superb independent food and drink producers in the region.
“Market Harborough’s first two-day food and drink festival is a great way to do that and will be a perfect way to spend the August Bank Holiday weekend.”
There will be a licensed drinks area, live music, craft stalls, cooking demos, street entertainers, face painters and lots more activities.
