A budding actor and performer from Harborough has been named as the lead actor in an adaptation of the smash hit musical Les Miserables which is being performed in Melton Mowbray.

Ben Studd, 17, will be playing the role of Inspector Javert in the SKY Theatre production, which takes place between September 15 and 19 at Melton Theatre.

This is not the first time Ben has starred in an adaptation of the musical, which is based on a novel by Victor Hugo.

Ben said: “The thing I love most about performing is the chance and challenge of playing someone else.

“I get a buzz out of making a room of people feel an emotion that you and the cast have created, putting that spin in someone’s day.”

Other stage performances by Ben have included Beadle Bamford in the musical Sweeney Todd.

The production of Les Miserables is being held at Melton Theatre between Tuesday, September 15, and Saturday, September 19.

There are performances at 2.30 and 7.30pm daily.

Tickets are £15 adults and £12 concessions on 01664 851111.
