Children baked muffins and students made dishes from Fairtrade products at an afternoon tea event at Harborough’s Welland Park Academy.
The event was arranged to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight and saw children and parents from schools all over the town invited to the academy.
Year 8 students from Welland Park Academy and year 10 students from Robert Smyth Academy were asked to produce a range of dishes for afternoon tea using Fairtrade products.
Children were also involved in debates and research as part of the project.
Pupils from Little Bowden Primary School visited Welland Park Academy to design and make their muffins. The event was supported by Sainsbury’s, Farndon Fields Farm Shop and the Co-op.
