A family friendly music festival is coming back to Harborough for its sixth consecutive year.
Rock on the Rec is a free music and arts festival run by young people, for young people.
This year’s festival, which has been organised by Enable Youth, The Cube and Room for Music, will take place on Friday, August 14, from 4 to 9pm at Symington’s Rec in Harborough.
Youth worker Jenny Lyon said: “The young organisers have been meeting weekly since last year to create an amazing event which will showcase some incredible young talent.
“The group have worked really hard to secure funding, arrange the logistics of the event, and ensure that we have fun workshops and cutting edge music.”
The festival will feature two stages with live performances from Sophie and Ruby, Abstract, James Condon, Tainted Perfection, Daz and Luke, Raised Phoenix, and many more.
There will also be a variety of interactive activities and workshops for people of all ages to get involved with and a family fun area with bouncy castles for the little monsters.
Jenny added: “Why not come and have a go at music tech, sports, pottery mosaics, or challenge your friends to a match in the football cage?
“The food area at the festival will also be a great place to get some dinner.
“It will be a great day out. We hope to see you there.
