A deli and bistro cafe which opened in Harborough in 2011 is now expanding by offering an evening restaurant for two nights a week.
Simply Simon’s new fully-licensed evening restaurant, at 23 Adam and Eve Street in town, opened on Thursday.
It follows the success of a number of evening events hosted by the venue last year.
Simply Simon’s has been heavily involved in the success of Adam and Eve Street being named as the Harborough’s food quarter and it has hosted several events in the evenings over the past few years.
Owner Simon Matthews, who was a garden designer before he opened up his cafe business in town, explained: “We have been encouraged by a growing number of customers to open more regularly in the evenings.
“As a result Simply Simon’s PM opened last Thursday evening offering a specially prepared menu highlighting the best of local and seasonal food.”
It will be open from 7pm until 10.30pm on Thursday and Friday nights.
Adam and Eve Street neighbours Duncan Murray Wines will be providing a supporting cast of wonderful wines.
Mr Matthews said: “It should provide just the venue customers have been asking for.
“We’re all really excited at the prospect of preparing and serving dishes such as Brixworth pate with walnut toast, local fillet steak and home-grown rhubarb mousse.”
A preview evening was held last Thursday.
Mr Matthews said: “It was a great success.
“We had lots of great feedback and a good chance for fine-tuning ahead of our opening to the public on Thursday (tonight).”
The deli and cafe first opened in town in June 2011.
Its opening hours are 8am to 5pm from Monday to Saturdays and from 9am to 4pm on Sundays.
