A volunteer trustee from Harborough-based Home Start South Leicestershire raised £500 for the charity by completing the Cardiff Half Marathon.

Zoe Ridley finished the 13-mile run in 2hr 14min.

The charity is now part of the Carnival of Running in Market Harborough on June 11 this year, organised by Race Harborough, and is encouraging local people to sign up to the one mile Fun Run at Robert Smyth Academy before the main running events take place.

The event free to enter, but participants are encouraged to collect sponsorship money in aid of Home-Start South Leicestershire in advance, and there will also be collections on the day.

To enter the Fun Run visit raceharborough.co.uk/running and look for the link to the Fun Run sign up page as well as the sponsorship form.

All under-15 entrants will receive a medal.

Home-Start supports families living with difficult circumstances in Harborough District, and is facing a harder than ever task of finding the funding it needs to keep its services running, so every effort is being made this year to make up for funding shortfalls.
