Lutterworth Carnival organisers are urging local people to “aid the parade” by becoming volunteer helpers.
Organisers Lutterworth Town Council say: “We need YOU to help make the carnival a success on Saturday, July 4.”
“We are currently seeking volunteers to be part of this great family day” explained the council’s events officer Holly Guy.
“We’re a bit short of volunteers, and need help with all areas of the event, from organising acts to marshalling.
“So if you would like to have the chance to give something back and would like to be involved, even if you can only spare a couple of hours, please contact us ASAP.
“All help really will be greatly appreciated.”
If you would like to step up and help make this great Lutterworth event run smoothly, you can contact the town council on 01455 550225 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The carnival procession is going to be “even bigger and better than last year” organisers promise.
Beginning from Lutterworth College at noon, the parade makes its way through the town centre ending up at the recreation ground at 1pm.
The Parade will include a jet engine and floats galore. If you are interested in taking part, again contact the town council.
There’s more entertainment from 1pm at the recreation ground on Coventry Road.
The fun includes a stage and an arena packed with entertainment and demonstrations all day, from local bands and choirs to dance troops, a balloon race and even volunteer councillors in the stocks.
There will be a beach, donkey rides, ice cream vans and Punch & Judy.
The funfair is back with all rides costing £1 each.
And new for this year are the medieval archery and a paintball shootout.
There’s also still just time to book a stall on the recreation ground. Again, anyone interested should contact the town council.
