GENERAL ELECTION 2015: Conservative Sir Edward Garnier wins Harborough vote

Conservative Sir Edward Garnier retained his seat in Harborough, beating his rivals with a majority of nearly 20,000 votes.

The full results were as follows:

Conservatives – Sir Edward Garnier: 27,695

Labour – Sundip Meghani: 8,043

Liberal Democrats – Zuffar Haq: 7,087

UKIP – Mark Hunt: 7,539

The Green Party – Darren Woodiwiss: 2,177

At the last election in 2010, the Sir Edward Garnier won 26,894 votes – a 9,877 majority.

The result was announced much later than expected due to issues with sorting ballot papers and a last minute computer glitch.
