Conservative Alberto Costa has retained the seat in South Leicestershire for his party.
The full results were as follows:
Conservative - Alberto Costa: 28,700
Labour - Amanda Hack: 11,876
Liberal Democrats - Geoff Welsh: 3,987
UKIP – Barry Mahoney: 9,363
The Conservatives have enjoyed a sizeable majority in the South Leicestershire seat of about 15,500.
Andrew Robathan (pictured right) won the seat in 2010 with nearly 50 per cent of the votes. However, he announced last year that he was stepping down.
Mr Robathan won 27,000 votes, with Aladdin Ayesh for the Liberal Democrats in second with 11,476 votes.
Labour’s Sally Gimson came a very close third with 11,392. The BNP’s Peter Preston came fourth with 2,721 and UKIP’s John Williams got 1,988 votes.
The turnout was 54,577 - 71.2 per cent.
