The much-anticipated Celebration of Christmas concert by the Harborough Singers’ group is taking place in town this Saturday.
The annual concert has a rich history dating back 28 years with several famous names such as Michael Kilgarriff and Archers’ actors Carole Boyd, Judy Bennett and Charles Collingwood featured along the way.
This year’s compere and speaker is actress Josette Simon who has starred in Blake’s 7, Lewis, Casualty and Midsomer Murders.
It will include a number of new and beautiful pieces and some old favourites.
The concert is at St Dionyisus Church in High Street, Harborough, at 7.30pm.
The group – one of the Midlands’ leading amateur chamber choirs – has been performing as the Singers since 1978.
Tickets cost £15 for reserved seats or £6.50 for unreserved places.
It is likely to be a sell-out but for any booking enquiries or late cancellations, see the website www.harborough singers.com.
Earlier this month the group performed at a star-studded Christmas charity concert in aid of the NSPCC at All Saints Church in Oakham.
Its traditional Nine Lessons and Carols service at St Giles Church in Medbourne was held last Sunday.
