A local firm has stepped in to replace posters publicising a village event that were stolen.

Data Image Group, based in Narborough, decided to replace the banners, after reading about the thefts in the Harborough Mail.

“It seemed an obvious thing that we could help out with,” said the company’s head of business development Nic Chater.

“One of our directors lives relatively locally, and large format print is our business.”

The banners were advertising a dinner dance to raise money for Medbourne’s well-used sports club in Hallaton Road.

But to the bewilderment of event organisers, someone took down the large posters from sites all round the village.

To buy tickets for the event at Ashley Barn on Saturday, November 28, ring Mr Rickman on 01858 565377, Gayle Jones on 01858 565430 or Debbie Burrows on 01858 565728.
