Firefighters tackled a chimney blaze at a house in Kibworth Harcourt yesterday evening (Thursday).

The on-call Kibworth crew raced to put out the fire at the home on Leicester Road just before 5.30pm after the incident was sparked by a log burner.

No-one was hurt and the fire was dealt with before any serious damage was caused.

A Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said a chimney hose and chimney rods were used to douse the flames and a log burner was removed from the house.
