Firefighters rescued someone who had trapped themselves in a bathroom in Market Harborough yesterday (Monday).

A fire crew from Harborough attended Pear Tree Gardens in town at about 9.30am, said the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.

A person had managed to shut themselves in a bathroom and firefighters used an extending ladder platform to free them, according to the log.

Meanwhile, town firefighters were also called out to the A6 Gallowfield Road about an hour earlier yesterday (Monday) after boiler pipes cracked.

The crack, at 8.37am, caused an ‘explosion’ which was heard nearby, said the report log.

Firefighters isolated a boiler room at the premises, as per the report.
