A festival to celebrate all things Harborough takes place on Saturday, June 27.

I Love Market Harborough has been organised by Sustainable Harborough and organisers are promising a host of family-friendly activities – from stalls and activities in The Square including painting and crafts, to hearing about river restoration in guided walks withe the Welland Rivers Trust.

All the activities take place between 9am and 4pm.

The event was held for the first time last year.

Jo Sharman, community project officer at Sustainable Harborough, said: “Many local groups will be joining us for the day, raising awareness of a wide range of sustainable action, from community groups and apple grafting, to recycling and buying local.

“We are lucky that we have so many volunteer-led groups that take action to improve sustainability in the town, and the festival is a great way for us to showcase the work we do together.”

Sustainable Harborough is a five year project funded through the Big Lottery Fund’s Communities Living Sustainably programme, working with householders, businesses and local producers to raise awareness of sustainability in the community.
