Cheers! A new brewery selling beer made in Market Harborough launched at the weekend.

The Market Harborough Brewery and Shop is at 71 St Mary’s Road (behind the Plumb Center). The shop will open every Saturday. The beer will also sell through local pubs and shops.

Head brewer Simon Shepley lives in Harborough and has been an artisan home-brewer for more than 25 years. Simon teamed up with fellow entrepreneur Ivan Sheldrake - co-owner of Harborough’s only micropub, The Beerhouse - to launch The Market Harborough Brewery.

Simon said: “I’ve brewed on a small scale in my garage for more than half my life, and I’ve always had a dream of doing it properly. At The Market Harborough Brewery we aim to brew delicious, innovative and exciting beers from quality ingredients.”

Ivan added “Real ale is in golden age at the moment and we want to be a part of the vanguard of great, fresh beer. From light to strong, pale to dark we will have something for everyone.”
