Children with backgrounds from all over the world attended an exciting New Year’s Eve party at Market Harborough’s Methodist Church.
Not specially for the party, of course. These were 42 children from 15 different countries who live in the town.
The International Children’s Holiday Party is an annual event started eight years ago by Ausra Bremner (born in Lithuania, raised in the USA) and her husband Dr Paul Bremner (born in Scotland).
Children at the party hailed from England, Scotland, Ireland, Lithuania, Japan, Thailand, China, America, France, Brazil, Finland, Egypt, Romania, Hungary and Greece.
The fun included craft activities, friendly sport and the year’s last Santa.
Mrs Bremner said: “We do believe that this event helps us get to know each other better, respect and accept our differences and embrace our similarities. It makes our community much stronger.”
