A Harborough group is working in partnership with a sustainable farm to create a fruit and vegetable garden for the Harborough community.

Sustainable Harborough has teamed up with Waterloo Cottage Farm to create the initiative.

The garden features an orchard, raised beds and a wildlife pond and Sustainable Harborough say it offers opportunities to share or develop news skills, make friends and take home the delicious, organic fresh food.

Project and support officer for Sustainable Harborough, Emily Crown, said: “The energy and enthusiasm of those involved so far has been fantastic, volunteers have embraced the opportunity to influence every stage of the garden’s development and there is still plenty of scope for new volunteers to contribute to shaping the future plans and activities.

“Over the past year much hard work and determination has gone into starting to transform the overgrown plot, from tackling the weeds to constructing raised beds.”
