Lutterworth High School made a real effort for World Book Day with scores of children dressing as their favourite characters last week.

The school, in Woodway Road, made it into a house competition with Tedder wearing red-coloured costumes, Cunningham donning yellow, Montgomery wearing blue and Churchill going green.

A total of 50 points were awarded if pupils came as a character from a book, 75 if they incorporated their house colour and 100 if a teacher could tell, just by looking at them, what house they were from.

Teacher Rachel Combellack said: “Staff are also in houses and dressed up too.

“And Tedder won!”
