The new head teacher of a Market Harborough primary school is settling in well and making her mark.
Nikki Prince joined the town’s Farndon Fields Primary School in September. She was previously the deputy head at The Pastures Primary School in Narborough.
She said: “I’m working hard, along with the staff, to develop a learning environment that promotes health, well-being, self-esteem and resilience. I’m passionate about developing lifelong learning characteristics in children that encourage leadership, helping them to feel successful as individuals, learners and critical thinkers.
“Parent partnerships are the key to the success of a child’s education and it is important for me to build on this relationship to ensure the best for the children.”
She is a former county and Midlands-standard long-distance runner and has completed several marathons.
The Leicester Tigers and Leicestershire County Cricket fan previously worked in product management for a London firm, before deciding to turn her hand to teaching.
The school’s former head Steve Snelson, who was at the helm from 2008, left last year to become the head of Leicester’s first Sikh free school, Falcon’s Primary.
