With so many fabulous things taking place at the Market Harborough Christmas Fayre tomorrow night (Friday), traders from Harborough Market are reminding shoppers that they too are open until 9pm and ready to join in all of the town’s festivities.
So much so, in fact, that Crumbs! owners Simon and Trish Mayers are baking a 3ft celebration cake to wish the people of Harborough a Merry Christmas from all the traders at the market.
Anyone that comes along to the market after 5.30pm can have a free slice of cake (while slices last!) as a thank you for supporting the traders.
“Since re-opening after the refurbishment at the market, our celebration cake business has gone from strength to strength,” said Mr Mayers. “This is our way of saying thank you to everyone in the town that has supported us and our fellow traders.”
For a 20p donation, shoppers will also be asked to guess the weight of the cake, with the winner receiving a 6” celebration cake from Crumbs!.
“Any money we raise will be donated to the National Autistic Society,” added Mrs Mayers. “So we hope people come down and support a great cause.”
Sweet traders Brennan’s Candy Cabin have also donated chocolates to be given away to children tomorrow night.
Harborough Market manager Sairah Butt urged people not to forget that the market is part of the town activities too.
“We have a host of fabulous stalls, hot food and drink, music from Saxaphonia inside the market, the fabulous Kibworth Operatic Society and the Main Street Band outside of the market, free chocs and of course cake, so hopefully the public will come along and shows us some support.”
