Desborough will travel back in time to the 1940s at a wartime festival which is being held in the town for the third time between midday and 5pm this Saturday, September 19.

The day will begin with an air raid siren and Harborough Ukelele Band will be entertaining visitors in Havelock Square, as will singer Kyle Keal, who will be performing hits from the 1940s.

At 1pm there will be a vehicle cavalcade round the town, finishing in Station Road.

The Ritz has a Vintage and Craft Fair during the day, with free entry from 11am to 4pm.

In the evening there is a dinner and dance.

Tickets are available from Gillian on 01536 763510 or events@ketteringvenues.co.uk.

There will be stalls on the street and all the food areas will be serving 1940s-style food.

Desborough Heritage Centre will have Pathe News playing all through the day and there is a working model train set.

On Friday, September 18, the Italian Market will be bringing a number of stalls to the town’s Market Square and High Street between 9am and 4pm.
