Talented young dancers from a Market Harborough theatre school have been nominated for the national IDTA Theatre Awards taking place in Manchester at the end of this month.
Nine pupils from Woodcock Theatre Arts, based at Compass Point, Northampton Road, were nominated after taking exams in ballet, theatre craft, tap and modern jazz. The pupils, all from Market Harborough, achieved between 90 and 94 per cent in their exams.
Olivia Chambers, from the theatre school, said: “Only 300 candidates out of over 6,000 are nominated so it’s a massive achievement to have nine pupils nominated.”
Adam Maclean, who won Harborough’s Got Talent last year, is nominated twice for ballet and modern jazz.
