Police seized a machete after swooping on a house in Market Harborough this morning (Monday) armed with a drugs warrant.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Proactive Team and Local Neighbourhood Team backed up by a specialist search dog targeted a house in Welland Park Road at 8am.

The raid was carried out as police crack down on County Lines drugs gangs operating in Market Harborough.

“No-one was present at the property at the time and no arrests have been made.

“Items, including a machete, were recovered from the property,” said Leicestershire Police.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Harborough police tweeted: “Keeping up the pressure on County Lines and drugs in Market Harborough.

“An early morning magistrates’ drugs warrant executed by the neighbourhood proactive team, local neighbourhood team, and search drugs dog.”
