The police blitz on countryside criminals is being fully backed by shattered farmers left counting the cost of the serious crimewave.

Leicestershire Police are specifically investigating two incidents where high-value GPS tracking equipment was stolen from farm machinery.

Officers from Market Harborough police station took part in executing two warrants in the West Midlands last Friday July 31.

“While no arrests were made and no equipment was recovered, to date property worth close to £100,000 has been recovered with support from the local farming community,” said Leicestershire Police.

“Enquiries are continuing.”
