Police are now pledging to work closely with frightened local residents and Harborough District Council in a bid to crack down on any more lawless mass gatherings at the park.

Insp Siobhan Gorman, who’s in charge of Harborough police, said: “Following a public order incident in Little Bowden on Friday evening (26 June) I authorised a Dispersal Order under Section 35 of the Anti-social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, to prevent further incidents.

“The order came in to effect at 7pm on Saturday (27 June) and ended at 7am today (Monday 29 June).

“As a result of the order no further incidents were reported and no arrests were made.”
