Police are set to reopen a new base in Lutterworth

Officers could be moving in to the town’s sports centre by the end of this month.

The move will be backed by local people after their police station was shut in 2013.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: “An arrangement has been made for officers to use a room at Lutterworth Leisure Centre.

“It is hoped they will be able to start using the room later this month.”

He said the new base will allow officers to carry out administrative duties in Lutterworth itself.
