The crash took place at around 10.15am on Sunday on the B6047 Melton Road, Lowesby, and involved one vehicle, a yellow Ducati M900 motorbike.

The motorcycle, which was travelling northbound towards the village of Lowesby, lost control on a bend and collided with a tree, police said this afternoon (Monday).

The rider of the motorcycle, 51-year-old Anantkumar Morjaria, from Leicester, was pronounced dead at the scene.
