Motorcyclist dies after crash in Harborough district

A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Broughton Astley over the weekend.

The crash happened at about 7.20pm on Saturday at the B4114 Coventry Road, close to its junction with Broughton Road.

Police said the motorcycle rider, a man aged in his forties, was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary where he later died.

The motorcyle, a red Ducati 1198, was the only vehicle involved in the crash.

Leicestershire Police issued information about the incident and an appeal for witnesses at 9.39am today (Monday).

PC 1498 Adrian Carlyle is the investigating officer and is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle prior the collision to please get in touch, by calling the police 101 number.
