Philip Jones, 25, has been accused of driving with no insurance and failing to stop for police officers after the crash.

Jones, of Coventry Road, Market Harborough, was arrested after the silver Volkswagen Golf ploughed into a metal fence and signs at the hospital on Leicester Road.

The railings were seriously damaged while a sign at the busy cottage hospital was also toppled.
