A large stash of Class A drugs and cash was seized by police in Market Harborough on Thursday night as a woman was arrested.

The 30-year-old suspect was detained as officers carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a property in Fount Court, off Haddonian Road, Market Harborough.

Police who broke into the building were backed up by a specialist force springer spaniel sniffer dog called Jazz.

Officers seized a substantial amount of Class A drugs as well as cash.

The woman arrested was questioned by police on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

She has now been freed as police enquiries into the raid continue.

Police also swooped on a property in St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough, on Thursday night.

They seized a small haul of suspected drugs and a woman of 40 was given a Community Resolution Order.

The twin raids went ahead as police investigating and combating local drug-dealing and County Lines gangs acted after receiving vital intelligence.
