Idiots set off firework inside entrance of Harborough supermarket in front of families and young children

Idiots detonated a firework at Sainsbury’s in Market Harborough on the night of Saturday November 9, it emerged today.

The offenders exploded the firework in the front entrance of the popular supermarket in St Mary’s Place at about 8.10pm, police said.

They are now being hunted by police – who warned it was an “extremely dangerous act”.

The incident caused “minor damage” to the shop and no-one was injured.

“There were a number of people in the area at the time, including young children.

“It was an extremely dangerous act and may have resulted in someone being seriously injured,” said Market Harborough police.

“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of those responsible.”
