A banned driver has had their car seized after they were stopped by police in Broughton Astley.

The disqualified and uninsured motorist was “stop checked” by officers in the Harborough district village on Thursday evening, Lutterworth police said.

The driver was found to be banned “from driving until June 21” and their insurance had been cancelled “due to non-payment”.

Their grey saloon car was seized on the spot and the driver will appear into court as they face new charges over the incident.
