A huge £3,500 was raised for Cottingham Primary School and the St Mary Magdalene Church at the village festival held earlier this month.
Visitors flocked to join in with a whole range of games and activities, including a bouncy castle, tombolas, face painting, train rides, circus skills and archery, and were treated to performances from local choir Valley Voice and musicians from around the villages.
Everyone was invited to have a go on the Northamptonshire skittles table and marvel at ‘Buttercup’, the Garrett Traction Engine.
A gourmet barbecue from the Travelling Supper Club and cakes in the ‘Bake Off’ style Tea Tent were provided, as well as drinks from Middleton’s Rockingham Forest Cider and the Warner Edwards Gin Bar.
Festival organiser Angela Preston Jones said: “It was a terrific day out for the whole family.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the record amount raised.
“Special thanks go to the ‘Made in the Villages’ stall which raised £400 alone.”
