Creative hair students at South Leicetershire College took to the runway to showcase off their work at their annual Xtreme catwalk show.

It involved level three hairdressing students who enjoyed sharing their artistic skills.

The nine students showcasing their hairdressing talents were: Adelle Tuckley – ‘The Wizard of Oz’; Ashleigh Cullen – ‘The Four Elements’; Tace Caldwell Gardiner – ‘Disney Fairy Tales’; Shelby Lockton – ‘Winter Wonderland’; Natasha Cropper – ‘Mythical Creatures’; Rebecca Adams – ‘The Animal Kingdom’; Jasmine Spooner – ‘Day of the Dead’; Tayla Hartley – ‘Deadly Sins’ and Kari Findley – ‘Steam Punk’.

Hairdressing lecturer Debbie Smith said: “The purpose of the show is to showcase the individual creativity and flair of each student and for them to have a real taste of working individually and as a team.”

Every student has had to carry out risk assessments, chair and minute team meetings, produce action plans and design plans, as well as create the actual styling for the show.

Debbie added: “They have had to organise models, make-up, music, seating plans as well as work through the rest of their qualification.

“I am so incredibly proud of all of the hard work that they have put in to this show, and hope that it allows employers and potential students to see the college is at the cutting edge of this industry.”
