Christmas presents stolen from home

A house was burgled in a Harborough district home and the elderly victim’s Christmas presents were stolen.

The incident happened between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday, November 27, in Houghton-on-the-Hill, when burglars broke into a house in Deane Gate Drive.

Access was gained through the front door and a Christmas-wrapped box of food and a Santa sack of food were taken.

Police released the information today (Thursday).

DC 4433 Melanie Fisher, who is investigating the incident, said: “Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area between the stated times?

“A black Volkswagen car was seen in the area around the time of the burglary and, if you have any information about the car, or if you were the driver, please come forward so we can eliminate you from our enquiries.”

Anyone with information about the crime should call the police 101 number, follow the instructions to leave a message for the officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 4433.
