A charity night featuring live music, a DJ and a raffle with some top prizes is being held in Market Harborough next Friday (August 28).
The event, which is being held at Market Harborough Rugby Club in Northampton Road from 7.30pm, is being held in memory of Andrew Brown and Nicky Woodbridge.
One of the event’s organisers, Emily Woodbridge, explained: “Laura Brown and I are joining forces to plan this event.
“As I lost my mother Nicky to breast cancer and Laura has recently lost her bother Andrew (26) to a brain tumour, we both decided to come together to raise money.
“We will have a DJ as well as live performances from Eleanor Boxall and Jack Jordan, and the Jammy Dodgers.”
Money raised on the night will be going to the CoppaFeel and the CLIC Sargent cancer charities.
The raffle has been supported with some generation donations from Harborough area businesses with prizes at time of writing including photography vouchers worth more than £150, an annual pass for the Welford-based Mini Meadows Farm and a farm shop hamper.
Admission will cost £5 on the door.
Laura will be hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa next month (September) to help raise further funds for CLIC Sargent in memory of her brother.
She has raised more than £2,100 so far.
