A thief broke into a Market Harborough store this week, and stole the store’s two charity boxes.

The burglary happened at about 4.15am on Tuesday morning at the Poundstretcher store in St Mary’s Place.

“We’re all pretty shocked to be honest” said a spokesman at the store.

“Two charity boxes have gone - one for the Air Ambulance and one for the PDSA.”

The thief broke in through a panel at the front of the shop.

There was a similar break-in last week at the Card Factory, which is also in St Mary’s Place, Market Harborough.
