A Lubenham woman is raising money for the Women V Cancer night-time cycle ride in London in the spring.

Laura Alden, a member of the Lubenham Raiders cycle group, will be taking part in the 100km ride on Saturday, May 30. She will be joined by her friend Suzanne Gordon in raising vital funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers for three charities. They are Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

Laura has set a target of £750 with the event’s 2,000 women riders hoping to raise £1million combined.

A cermics workshop, led by expert Katherine Fortnum, was held at Lubenham Village Hall last Thursday night which has raised £170 towards Laura’s fundraising target.

The supply teacher is now planning a pasta-making event in April to boost the total.
