Centre going its own way to teach handy skills for life

The Enterprise Centre, founded 12 years ago, was formerly part of Lutterworth College but is now an independent organisation.

A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Lutterworth said: “We have always had a strong connection with the Enterprise Centre with a Rotarian and her husband working with students in the horticultural section. Three members agreed to become trustees and provide a voluntary service.”

The centre teaches subjects such as woodworking, PC maintenance, arts and crafts, horticulture, and wallpapering.

The Rotary Club applied for funding to create a safe, enclosed outside area as well as tools.

Rotarian Bernard Johnson constructed two wooden fences to complete this area. Rotarian Hugh Robertson Smith provided decking.

Students put together a large round table and benches which encouraged their woodworking skills.
