A waterside restaurant in Harborough has undergone a complete refurbishment and has extended its opening hours.
The Waterfront, based at the canal basin on Union Wharf has been owned and managed by Gumley based Stephanie Hamblin and her sister Sandy since 2010.
The revamp, which took place this autumn, included the installation of new carpets as well as new furniture and extensive redecoration. The upstairs function room which is used for parties, events and weddings has been completely refitted in time for Christmas.
Owner Sandy Tandy comments: “Our aim has been to make The Waterfront a more informal affair. Customers now come to meet up and enjoy a drink with friends or pop in for a snack or to enjoy our homemade cake.
“We’ve been keen to make these changes for a several years but wanted to keep the charm and original features of The Waterfront intact. The hardest part was fitting in where the draught beers could go. Fortunately a new system has been developed to fit real draught beer into limited spaces. So far, the changes have proven very popular with our customers.”
The Waterfront is now open from 11am.
