Kibworth firefighters were called out to deal with three incidents in the district yesterday in the space of about five hours.

Firefighters from Kibworth were called out three times yesterday (Sunday) in the space of under five hours.

The first incident was at about 3.45pm in Mowsley Road, Saddington, after a fire started in a woodburner and its chimney stack.

A Kibworth fire crew used a backpack kit to deal with the small fire, which caused minimal damage and was started accidentally, according to the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.

The next incident was in a paddock off Leicester Road, Fleckney, at 7.52pm after a fire had been started accidentally in a lean-to building.

Firefighters used one high-powered hose reel and drag forks to tackle the fire, which caused three square metres of damage to the building, said the report log.

Finally, the Kibworth firefighters were called to Fleckney at about 8.30pm to free two people who had become trapped in a lift inside a building in School Street.

Firefighters released the pair.
