A book to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War which covers the lives of the men inscribed on Great Easton’s war memorial has been published.
The book, called Great Easton War Memorial: The Men Behind the Names, has been compiled by Margaret Stamp.
She gathered all the information on each man named on the memorial, and four who are not.
She said: “It should be of interest to residents of the village and anyone who has links with any of the men.”
She recently gave a well-received talk on the topic to Great Easton and District History Society. The book is available now from Great Easton Post Office and Village Store.
