Food producers and retailers in the Harborough district are invited to have their say at a meeting being dubbed The Big Decision about the future of local food in the area.
The Local Food and Drink Forum public meeting, being organised by the Sustainable Harborough group, is taking place in the café area of Harborough Market in Northampton Road , from 5.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday, January 21.
Retailers and producers will be asked for help on how to raise the profile of food and drink in and around Market Harborough.
The Big Decision meeting will give retailers and producers the opportunity to have their say in deciding the direction of the next projects by the food and drink forum and Sustainable Harborough.
Attendees can also find out how they can become involved in projects promoting Market Harborough as a place to experience local produce.
Sustainable Harborough project officer Jo Sharman said: “Following the success of our previous projects, such as the Local Food Map and EdibLE16, we want to know what should happen next in Harborough’s local food community.
“If you are a local producer or retailer, we need you to let us know what should happen next – whether that be a local food brand, local label, local map or local campaign.”
The event will be Sustainable Harborough’s first of the new year, following a series of projects in 2014 aimed at strengthening the district’s food sector.
The group’s aim is to link producers and retailers and to keep money within the local economy.
