Beat cancer with breakfast!
Jayne Sullivan, fundraising manager for Cancer Research UK in Harborough, launched the fundraising campaign by hosting a pyjama day and staging breakfast in bed with colleagues from the charity.
Now the team are calling on people from the area to come up with their own special menu to help beat cancer sooner.

Jayne said: “Many members of our team have family or friends who have been personally affected by cancer so we really wanted to inspire people to host their own breakfast event and help more people survive.
“Hosting a breakfast event is a really fun and simple way to raise much-needed funds to beat cancer sooner. Friends, family, neighbours and colleagues can all bring something to the table - from porridge to poached eggs.
“Whether you’re serving up a breakfast spread for five or 50 people, every pound donated will help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”

Cancer Research UK receives no government funding for its research.
Jayne added: “One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some stage in their lives. Thanks to advances in research more people are surviving than ever before, but there’s still more work to be done. That’s why we need more people to show their support and help us to fund life-saving research.
“This March, we’re hoping that kitchen tables across Leicestershire will be teaming with toast, brimming with bagels and packed with porridge. It’s time to get your taste buds in gear and make your breakfast bigger and better than ever for Cancer Research UK.”
