Be the face of this year's carnival - and the town

It's that time of year when the Market Harborough Carnival Committee starts its search for royalty.

The launch starts today (Thursday) and will run until April 9.

The competition for places on the carnival’s royal court is open to boys and girls aged between five and 16 years old.

Applicants need to send a head and shoulders photo with name and age to the Market Harborough Carnival Facebook message page for the attention of Suzanne Leete from the committee.

Once they have all been received, we will publish them in the Mail and people can vote via the committee’s Facebook page.

The cut off date for final votes will be April 23 and the winners will be published in the paper. There is a cash prize to the winners and of course the honour of sitting at the head of the parade on carnival day and being the face of the town for a year.
