An arsonist, or arsonists, set fire to a disused farmhouse in North Kilworth in the early house of yesterday morning (Easter Monday).

Two fire crews from Lutterworth were called to the building, off Pincet Lane in the village, at just after 3am.

Firefighters used a pair of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and the positive pressure ventilation system to quell the flames.

A wooden floor at the rear of the building was destroyed in the attack, according to the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service daily report log.

Anyone with any information about the incident can call Leicestershire Police on its 101 number.
