Poppy Appeal stalwarts were presented with a raft of long service awards at the Royal British Legion’s annual volunteer awards night earlier this month.
Volunteers were presented with awards – ranging from five years’ service to 40 years’ – by the Andrew Granger, president of the Harborough branch of the Royal British Legion.
Five year certificates were presented to The Rev John Morley, Kathie Morley, John Palmer and Myra Grewcock.
Ten-year appreciation awards were given to David French of Great Bowden and Mrs J Bradley of Church Langton.
A 15-year award was given to branch secretary Betty Ramsey. Les Moore was honoured with a 20-year award and a prestigious 40 year Bar Award was presented to Roger Brown.
The Poppy Appeal will be launched on Saturday, October 24, at the Remembrance Garden Gates at 11am, with Northampton Pipe Band in attendance.
