Appeal on stables plan is refused

An appeal to the Planning Inspectorate for a new home and stables has been refused.

Appellant Mrs J Stanhope wanted to demolish buildings in Kibworth Road, Tur Langton, to make way for a new dwelling with associated stables and a manège.

An appeal was made when Harborough Council failed to rule on the plan in the correct time limit.

But planning inspector Mark Caine dismissed the appeal last month, saying the plan would effect the character of the village’s conservation area and would “not be a sustainable form of development”.
