The 9th annual Misterton Hall Plant Food and Craft Fair organised by Lutterworth Rotary Club smashed its own fundraising record.
Held in the grounds of Heather Craven’s country home, 54 stalls selling plants, products and food were visited by the more than 1,200 visitors.
The takings of £5,300 doubled those of 2014, in itself a previous record and other charities raised £2,000 for their good causes.
One stall run by Elaine Turner and Tilly Yates sold £742 worth of home grown plants and pansies donated by The Plant Man of Braybrooke with their amount being matched by Barclays pund for pound.
Alongside the diverse stalls classic and vintage cars were displayed which competed against each other for the best in show title.
Lutterworth MP Alberto Costa attended the fair to present the prizes for the ‘Concours d’Elegance’ to winner Roger Toone with his MGA 1600, and runner-up Martin Howe with a Triumph Gloria.
Next year’s event 10th event will take place at Misterton Hall on Sunday May 15 2016.
