Air ambulance lands in Harborough district to deal with a serious injury after a three-vehicle crash

East Midlands air ambulance was scrambled after at least one person was badly injured when three vehicles crashed in the Harborough district on Monday afternoon.

The helicopter, carrying paramedics and a doctor, flew to the serious crash at Three Gates, near Illston on the Hill, at about 4.20pm.

One male suffered shoulder, chest and leg injuries in the accident.

He was “being assessed by Helimed and a doctor in attendance”, said Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters manning fire engines from Market Harborough and Kibworth dashed to the scene on the B6047 Melton road, north of Market Harborough.
